Dr Christopher Julian MD Has Died, Obituary, Fresno CA

Dr. Christopher Julian, MD, a respected urologist, surgeon, and co-founder of Urology Associates of Central California, has passed away. His sudden loss leaves a deep void in the Fresno medical community and in the hearts of his colleagues, patients, and loved ones. He was a dedicated physician, a devoted husband and father, and a lifelong learner who elevated the standards of care in every space he entered.

Born in Philadelphia and raised in Fresno from the age of six, Dr. Julian was a proud Californian with East Coast roots. The son of renowned urologist Dr. Robert Julian, Christopher followed in his father’s footsteps — not only becoming a physician but helping build the very same urology practice that would serve thousands across the Central Valley. Together, father and son became pillars of specialized care in urological medicine.

Dr. Julian earned his Bachelor of Arts in Molecular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, and received his Doctorate in Medicine from Georgetown University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He returned to California to complete his internship and residency at Stanford University, where he also contributed as a guest lecturer in the Department of Physiology.

Specializing in urological oncology, urinary incontinence, and stone disease, Dr. Julian was board-certified by the American Board of Urology and maintained primary hospital affiliations with Saint Agnes Medical Center and Community Medical Centers. His patients, both male and female over the age of 16, knew him for his compassion, deep expertise, and calming bedside manner.

In 2008, Dr. Julian was named “Best Urologist in Fresno” by Fresno Magazine—an honor voted on by local primary care physicians, making the recognition all the more meaningful.

Throughout his career, Dr. Julian served not only as a physician but as a leader. He actively participated in technical committees at Urology Associates, ensuring state-of-the-art surgical practices and equipment. He also served as Chief of Surgery at Saint Agnes Medical Center and was a professional member of both the American Medical Association and the American Urological Association.

Beyond his medical achievements, Dr. Julian was a man of great heart. He cherished his time with his wife, Julie, and their daughter, building a life full of love, laughter, and adventure. Whether skiing in the mountains with his family or playing golf with his father, Chris found joy in the simple pleasures of togetherness and tradition.

His loss is deeply felt across the Fresno medical community and by the many patients whose lives he improved with his care.

Dr. Christopher Julian leaves behind his wife Julie, their daughter, his father Dr. Robert Julian, and a grateful community that will forever remember his contributions, compassion, and commitment to healing.
